COMPTON, Calif. , A pursuit involving Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies concluded with a multi-vehicle crash in Compton on Monday afternoon.
Deputies had been chasing a reported stolen vehicle when it collided with two other cars just before 2:30 p.m. near Santa Fe Avenue and Myrrh Street, according to authorities.
Following the crash, the suspects bailed out of the vehicle and fled on foot. Deputies caught up with them and took them into custody after a short foot pursuit.
The exact number of suspects had not been released as of Monday evening.
Several people involved in the crash were taken to local hospitals for treatment, authorities said. The number of victims and the severity of their injuries remained unclear.
