Video from the scene captured the RV fully engulfed in flames on the shoulder of the freeway, with fire also spreading to the adjoining hillside. Crews extinguished the blaze after approximately 1 acre of brush burned.
Traffic Impact on the 60 Freeway
At the height of the emergency, all westbound lanes of the freeway were shut down. The HOV lane eventually reopened, but an extensive traffic backup persisted well into the morning commute.
