Police: 2 Parents, 3 Juveniles Arrested After West Haven High School Fights

Police arrested five people, including two parents and three juveniles, after several fights broke out at West Haven High School on Wednesday morning.

The incident prompted a stay-in-place order at the school.

The fights involved three girls and two women, according to Sgt. Scott Allard.

Allard said two parents of the juveniles involved arrived at the school and “began causing a disturbance while attempting to involve themselves in the altercations.”

“Due to the violent and tumultuous behavior displayed by both the juveniles and adults involved, a shelter-in-place was implemented to ensure the safety of students and staff inside the school,” Allard wrote in a news release.

Allard reported no injuries.

“This type of behavior is unacceptable and will not be tolerated,” Allard wrote.

In an update on Wednesday night, Allard identified the adults as 36-year-old Stephanie Hernandez and 35-year-old Raynaer Bamberg, both of West Haven.

Police charged the women and the three juveniles each with second-degree breach of peace.

Officers issued Bamberg a summons at the scene and released him, while they processed Hernandez at the police department, according to Allard.

Allard also said no weapons were involved in the altercation, “other than fighting, and they threw eggs at each other.”
