Missing Child Located During Search Effort
Authorities in North Little Rock, Arkansas, are investigating the death of a 4-year-old boy who was found unresponsive in a residential swimming pool after being reported missing.
The North Little Rock Police Department responded on April 29 to the 5700 block of Summertree Drive after receiving a report of a missing child.
Child Found Unresponsive in Pool
Police said the child, who was autistic and non-verbal, was located shortly after search efforts began at the apartment complex. He was found unresponsive in the community pool.
Officers immediately began life-saving measures until emergency medical personnel arrived. The child was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Death Investigation Underway
Detectives have launched a formal death investigation to determine how the incident occurred. The Arkansas State Crime Lab will conduct an autopsy to establish the official cause and manner of death.
