Man Killed in Central West End Shooting; Suspect Arrested by SWAT in St. Louis

A fatal shooting in St. Louis’ Central West End neighborhood has left a 64-year-old man dead, with police confirming a suspect is now in custody.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to a reported shooting around 11:15 p.m. Friday in the 4400 block of Forest Park Avenue. When authorities arrived at the scene, they found the victim unconscious and not breathing after suffering a gunshot wound.

Emergency responders transported the man to a nearby hospital, where he was initially listed in critical condition. Despite medical efforts, he later died from his injuries on Saturday.

Investigators quickly worked to identify a suspect in the case. With assistance from a SWAT team, police arrested a 60-year-old individual believed to be connected to the shooting. Officials have not yet released the suspect’s name.

Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing as detectives continue to determine the circumstances leading up to the incident.
