A man was shot and killed Sunday morning in St. Louis, prompting an active homicide investigation, according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
Authorities say the shooting occurred around 11 a.m. in the 5200 block of Wabada Avenue, located in the city’s Kingsway West neighborhood.
When officers arrived at the scene, they confirmed that a man had been fatally shot. Homicide detectives were called in shortly after to begin investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
As of now, police have not released the victim’s identity, nor have they provided details about what led up to the shooting or whether any suspects have been taken into custody.
The investigation remains ongoing, and officials say more information will be released as it becomes available.
