Normandy Man Charged After Spanish Lake Shooting Leaves Victim Critically Injured

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A 62-year-old man from Normandy is facing multiple felony charges after a Sunday morning shooting in the Spanish Lake area left another man with life-threatening injuries, authorities confirmed.

Shooting Reported on Lakeridge Drive

According to the St. Louis County Police Department, officers responded around 8:17 a.m. to a call in the 13000 block of Lakeridge Drive.

When officers arrived, they found a 63-year-old man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.

Argument Escalates Over Tipped Motorcycle

Investigators say the shooting stemmed from a heated dispute involving William Borak and two other men.

Police said:

  • A verbal confrontation initially broke out
  • Borak allegedly displayed a handgun and was told to leave
  • One man later discovered his motorcycle had been knocked over

When the man returned to confront Borak, tensions escalated again.

Authorities say Borak fired two shots during the argument, striking the 63-year-old victim in the chest.

Suspect Arrested at Scene Without Incident

Police took Borak into custody at the scene without resistance.

He now faces several charges, including:

  • First-degree assault
  • Armed criminal action
  • Unlawful use of a weapon

Bond Set at $250,000

Borak is currently being held at the St. Louis County Jail on a $250,000 cash-only bond, according to officials.

The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing.
