NORWICH, Conn. — A tragic dirt bike accident in Norwich on Sunday has left a 25-year-old man dead, prompting an active investigation by the Norwich Police Department.
Crash Reported on Taftville-Occum Road
Authorities said the crash occurred around 4 p.m. on Taftville-Occum Road after multiple emergency calls reported a serious motor vehicle collision.
When officers arrived, they discovered a crash involving a dirt bike and a passenger vehicle, confirming the severity of the incident.
Victim Identified as Jewett City Man
The dirt bike rider was identified as Dale Lucier, a 25-year-old resident of Jewett City.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital following the collision but later died from his injuries, police confirmed.
Driver Cooperating With Police Investigation
Officials said the driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and was not injured in the crash. Police also confirmed that the driver is fully cooperating with investigators.
