St. Tammany Parish teacher arrested for allegedly placing Band-Aids on students’ mouths

PEARL RIVER, La. — Authorities in St. Tammany Parish have charged a Northshore teacher after accusations surfaced that he placed Band-Aids on students’ mouths.

The Pearl River Police Department reported that the incident involved seven students between the ages of 8 and 10 at Riverside Elementary School.

Deputies said 38-year-old George Serban allegedly used the Band-Aids as punishment to stop students from talking during class.

Authorities have charged Serban with simple battery and cruelty to juveniles.
